How Blogs Can Build Relationships: A Chat with Liz Strauss

11 September 2006 by Tammy Lenski

Years ago, when I first heard of chat rooms and online-only relationships, I was a bit smug in my distaste. How, pray tell, does someone build any kind of real relationship via keyboard? After serving as an online mediator for eBay auction disputes starting in ’99, then entering the business blogging world several years ago, I had to wipe that smug smile off my face.

I’ve replaced it with a smile of genuine appreciation.

Because I’ve had the chance to meet very cool people from all over the world through Conflict Zen®, I’ve had fascinating chats, a world of learning from savvy professionals I wouldn’t have met in my own geographic neck of the woods, and a generous slice of humble pie along the way.

One of the people I’ve met is Liz Strauss of Chicago, a publishing consultant, blogger extraordinaire, savvy professional woman, and kindred spirit. Back in May Liz kindly agreed to be interviewed here and it was great fun.

So it was a nice way to extend the fun when Liz asked yours truly for an interview. Here’s the first installment on Liz’s blog.

Thanks a bunch, Liz (picture me fanning my face with my hands)!

First off, wow, you really have a well laid out, clean, and great looking site Tammy. I like the choice of font & colors, large images to show what’s what. Great work!

Secondly, I must say, you’re a lucky one person to have been able to interview Liz, I’m definately going to prepare a special interview before I ask her.

Hey, TechZ, a big welcome to you. I appreciate the feedback about the site, especially coming from you. I admire your site tremendously and learn something every time I visit.

Yes, I am lucky to have been able to connect with Liz. She’s dynamite and a constant inspiration.

    Thanks for stopping by!
